Inspired by her London upbringing, Karistocat is one of the most unique and dynamic artists to come out of the city. Revered for her deep and powerful sound of electronica blending D&B, techno and electro her style leads to sets that absorb and ignite.
Since 2011, Karistocat’s evolving style caught the attention of London’s Shorebitch collective and she became resident supporting Modeselektor, to UK Garage heavyweights DJ Luck & MC Neat, Artful Dodger, So Solid Crew and grime’s D Double E. From working on the pirate radio documentary Drowned City featuring Sam Supplier and exploring pirate radio, she also went further to work with BBC Radio 6 on a series of specialised programmes on the history of drum & bass and jungle.
From landing residencies in her home city to spinning sets in front of 8,000 people at Reading & Leeds, to festivals such as Wilderness, and sharing the stage with Goldie for Champagne Steam Rooms at Bestival, her sets ignite dance-floors and festivals alike. Over the years Karistocat has dropped her distinctive selection at countless events across the UK & represented internationally in Europe, including Paris, Rome, Vienna, Cannes, and Ibiza.
Recently Karis has released her EP Babalon via ourselves as The One Recordings which has picked up huge momentum having been remixed by Blame and featured on BBC Radio 1’s René LaVice show.
