Natty Lou is a Drum and Bass DJ hailing from Cardiff, South Wales. Although originally from the UK, she has been living and working throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Natty was recently nominated as ‘Best Newcomer’ for the Drum and Bass Arena Awards 2021, is currently signed with Universal Artist Agency (UAA) and is sponsored by Drum and Bass’ number 1 streetwear brand, Concrete Junglists.
Natty is not new to the scene. Her love and passion for Drum and Bass began in 2008 whilst studying and living in Bristol. She was an original member of the dance troupe ‘Bass Honeys’, and was often seen performing at DnB nights alongside the likes of Dillinja, Drumsound & Bassline smith, Sigma, Crissy Criss, Cyantific and more.
Natty started mixing whilst living in Hong Kong, and became resident for China’s largest DnB Label, ‘Unchained Asia’. She is best known for playing heavy dancefloor bangers and mixing them with Rollers, Jump up and Neurofunk. Since returning back to the UK in March 2020, she made every effort to continue her DJ career throughout the pandemic by playing at several sit-down raves such as Lakota Gardens in Bristol & The Cause in London, as well as live-streaming for platforms such as Goat Shed and Run Tingz TV – with the likes of Siege MC (Soulvent), Jakes (Critical) and Maddy V (Sika Studios) hosting her set.
Out of lockdown, Natty has played out at some of UK’s super-clubs including London’s Ministry of Sound supporting Macky Gee, Netsky, Dillinja & Mampi Swift, Motion Bristol for RUN DNB supporting Andy C, Bladerunner & S.P.Y, O2 Academy Oxford supporting Chase & Status, Y Plas Cardiff for Bedlam Cardiff supporting Wilkinson, 1991, Shy FX & Flava D, as well as at The Volks in Brighton supporting Drum & Bass pioneer, Grooverider. Natty was also selected to create the mix for Viper Records Annual 2021 – the first ever non-producer to do so!
Not only a DJ, Natty is a radio show host for Data Transmission Radio. Each month, she showcases the latest DnB tunes and invites special guests on her show including Fade Black (Critical), Keeno (Hospital), Euphonique (Hot Cakes) and Something Something (Elevate). She has featured as a guest on Mollie Collins’ KISS FM show, as well as Rinse FM.
There is so much in store for Natty in 2022! You can catch her making her Fabric debut supporting Micky Finn, Sub Zero, Benny L, T>I & more, as well as supporting Andy C on his tour, at Clwb Ifor Bach Cardiff warming up for Bladerunner, and on a Concrete Junglists tour of Leeds, Bristol, Bournemouth, Milton Keynes, London and more. You can also catch her on the Viper Recordings Stage at The One in The Woods festival alongside Matrix & Futurebound, A.M.C, The Kings of the Rollers and at Woodland Dance Project in Edinburgh.
Natty is currently taking the next steps of her music career by working on music production. She is currently studying with Education & Bass and has close connections with Tileyard London who represent Sigala, Ella Eyre, Joel Correy and more. Natty is really enjoying the process of producing dancefloor Drum and Bass, and believes that focussing on production will help develop her into a well-rounded Drum and Bass artist, hoping to inspire others with her music.
